The Provincial Government of Albay has announced plans to transition completely to renewable energy (RE) in Bicol in the Philippines by 2030. The government has signed a partnership agreement with the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ) to work with different communities and establishments to promote and develop RE in and beyond the province.
This collaboration aims to phase out the use of fossil fuels by 2025 and to increase the use and consumption of RE to 10 GW by 2030.
