The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has announced plans to invest PHP16 billion over the next four years by 2029 in maritime infrastructure projects to enhance efficiency and security in the nation’s ports. 

One of the key projects is the Law Enforcement Building (LEB) at the Port of Currimao, which will enhance security measures and streamline coordination among government agencies responsible for port and waterway safety. Another key investment is the K9 Academy, designed to support the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) with dedicated facilities for training centres and living quarters.

Moreover, in Marinduque, the expansion of the Balanacan port is aimed at upgrading port facilities to meet the growing demands of maritime trade and commerce in the province. Meanwhile, the Port of Tubigon in Bohol has completed a new two-story passenger terminal building, equipped to accommodate over 1,000 passengers with modern amenities.

Further south, The cruise ship port in Jubang, Dapa in Surigao del Norte is launched to enhance maritime connectivity and economic development for Siargao Island and the wider province.
