The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has begun demolishing 10 Philippine National Railways (PNR) stations from Santa Mesa, Manila to Cabuyao, Laguna to fast-track the construction of the North South Commuter Railway (NSCR) South.

The works cover stations including Cabuyao, Santa Rosa, Alabang, Bicutan, Blumentritt, Sucat, Muntinlupa, Biñan, San Pedro, and Mamatid. Right-of-way issues for the southern segment are targeted for resolution by 2026.

The NSCR is expected to be completed in 2032, with the Malolos–Valenzuela section due in 2027 and the Malolos–Clark stretch in 2028. Once operational, the 147 km line will serve about 800,000 passengers daily.
