The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has announced that works on the Baclaran Expansion Depot in Pasay City for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project in the Philippines has been completed. The depot expansion project included civil works as well as building and facility constructions. The project was financed under a grant from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Once operational, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project is expected to reduce travel time between Baclaran and Bacoor to 25 minutes. It is also expected to increase the LRT 1’s capacity from 500,000 to 800,000 passengers daily.
