The Philippines’ Department of Finance (DOF) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are set to implement USD1.5 billion worth of infrastructure projects across the country by 2026. The agencies are finalising four key loan agreements focusing on maritime safety, road development, and flood risk management projects.

Moreover, JICA is considering increasing its policy-based lending and exploring opportunities for co-financing initiatives like the Climate Change Action Program (CCAP) Subprogram 2, alongside partners such as the Asian Development Bank and Agence Française de Développement. This program aims to assist the Philippines in implementing its national climate policies and transitioning towards a low-carbon economy.
