The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines has awarded 77 offshore wind energy contracts (OWC), with a combined capacity of 60 GW. Additionally, eight more contracts have been awarded to develop ocean, tidal, and wave energy projects.

The DoE is also looking to increase the pre-development period for offshore wind projects from five years to eight years. The changes are subject to public consultation in September 2023.

Till date, the department has awarded a total of 1,087 service contracts, with combined capacity of 113 GW, and are in various development stages.
