The Department of Energy (DoE) of the Philippines has announced the list of eligible bidders for participation in the second rounds of the green energy auction (GEA-2) which is scheduled for June 19, 2023. Around 11,600 MW of total capacity is being offered. The 118 eligible bidders include subsidiaries of Aboitiz Power, Enfinity and Solar Philippines. The number of potential bids amounts to 339, with Phinma Solar Energy Corporation accounting for almost one-third of the total.

A pre-bid conference for qualified bidders will take place on June 6, 2023.

As a part of GEA-2, the government seeks to award 3,600 MW of capacity for 2024, 3,600 MW for 2025, and 4,400 MW for 2026. The categories of targeted technologies include ground-mount solar, floating solar, rooftop solar, onshore wind, biomass and waste-to-energy.
