Philippines-based PacificLight Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), has announced plans to bid on the construction of Singapore’s upcoming power plants.

The Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore has invited proposals for developing and managing new generation capacity, with each unit expected to generate at least 600 MW. This project aims for completion by 2029-2030. Additionally, PacificLight has added 100 MW to its capacity and is focusing on establishing gas plants in Singapore. Further, PacificLight has been authorised to construct and operate a 100-MW hydrogen-ready gas turbine to meet Singapore’s growing energy demand.
