The Philippines and Australia are exploring potential partnerships to modernise railway, airport and seaport infrastructure in the Philippines. The proposed cooperation covers major rail projects including the Metro Manila Subway, North-South Commuter Railway, MRT-7, MRT-3 upgrade and expansion, LRT-1 Cavite Extension and the Philippine Automated Fare Collection System.

The partnership also covers the modernisation of regional airports and nationwide seaport infrastructure to improve connectivity and the movement of passengers and goods. Australian infrastructure firm Plenary Group participated in discussions on investment opportunities, with the cooperation expected to support infrastructure development through foreign capital and technical expertise.
