The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has announced plans to deploy an electronic ticketing system on ferries in the country, in an attempt to ease passenger queues at ticket counters during peak hours. The system will be deployed across all 24 ports under PPA’s supervision.
The e-ticketing portal will provide the arrivals and departures schedules of the ferries as well as a system that will allow passengers to book and pay for the tickets.
This move is a part of PPA’s full digitisation efforts for 2023, in addition to the Trusted Operator Program – Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) for cargoes and containers.
