The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has awarded more than PHP9 worth of port projects across the country. This includes a PHP146 million contract awarded to Great Swiss Metal Builders Corporation for the construction of a wharf and port in San Juan as well as a PHP127 million contract awarded to MAC Builders for the construction of a section of the Port of Guadalupe in Maasin City.

Meanwhile, a joint venture (JV) company comprising GlobalPort Terminals Incorporated, and GlobalPort Ozamis Terminal Incorporated were issued a notice to undertake the management of Sasa Port in Davao. The management contract involves a concession fee of PHP8.64 billion.

Another JV comprising Equi-Parco Construction Company and EvenPar Construction and Development Corporation secured a PHP231 million contract to upgrade the Port of Opol in Misamis Oriental.

As of May 2022, PPA had completed 600 port projects in the Philippines. Some of the key project completed includes the Port of Salomague in Ilocos Sur, the Puerto Princesa Port, San Fernando Port, Bataraza Port and Borac Port in Palawan. The agency has also started work on some of the flagship port projects including the Port of Calapan and the Port of Zamboanga.
