PetroVietnam has launched two projects on Phu Quoc Island. These involve the development of a synthetic oil service port system and a bonded fuel warehouse on Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of Kien Giang. The construction and operation of the port system will serve gas exploitation and transportation from Block B, 48/95, 52/97 and other gas fields in the region. The port system will service vessels with a deadweight tonnage of up to 80,000. The second stage will start after 2017. In addition, PV Oil invested 1.4 trillion dong ($64.2 million) in the fuel warehouse, built on 35.16 hectares of land and 60 hectares of sea. The first stage, which is expected to be completed by end-2017, will have a storage capacity of 70,000 cubic metres.
