Petronas has cancelled the tender for the marginal field risk service contract for the Tembikai and Cenang gas fields, off Terengganu. The lack of gas pipelines to transport gas from these fields for processing has been cited as the key reason for tender cancellation. In fact, Petronas had invited tenders last year based on the initial plan to utilise the Angsi pipeline (the nearest gas pipeline to Tembikai and Cenang) to transport gas from the fields to processing plants in Kerteh. However, the Angsi pipeline is likely to be utilised for the Angsi field (an enhanced oil recovery project) for the next 10 to 15 years.
