PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), has signed a general partnership agreement (GPA) with Turkey-based Karpowership to develop renewable energy (RE) infrastructure in Indonesia.
As per the GPA, the companies will jointly explore and implement various initiatives aimed at advancing the energy landscape in Indonesia. The will include areas such as powership technology, floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) development and deployment and collaborating on LNG infrastructure projects, floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and small-scale LNG distribution.
Additionally, the companies will also work on studies for the development of alternative fuel sources, like hydrogen, ammonia, methanol and other biofuels.
