Pampanga Electric Cooperative II (Pelco II) has partnered with AboitizPower to supply 40 MW of ‘Cleanergy’ for the province of Pampanga, in the Philippines, over the next 10 years.
The partnership includes the delivery of clean and renewable energy (RE) to households and businesses in the Pelco II franchise area. These include the municipalities of Bacolor, Sasmuan, Lubao, Mabalacat, Guagua, Sta. Rita and Lubao. The energy supply will be sourced from the Tiwi-Makban geothermal power plants which is operated and managed by AP Renewables Incorporated (APRI).
The partnership between the two firm has been established under a competitive selection process (CSP) initiated by Pelco II. The CSP is in line with the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) aim of ensuring that energy procurement processes by power companies are transparent and fair.
