Peak Energy has started work on a 65 MWp solar power project in Isabela, Cagayan Valley, marking its first large-scale development in the Philippines. The project is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint across Southeast Asia.
Once operational, the plant is expected to generate more than 68 GWh of clean electricity each year, enough to power about 23,000 households. It will also reduce annual carbon emissions by around 37,000 tonnes, equivalent to removing 8,000 cars from the road. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
The Government of the Philippines has supported such investments through incentives and clearer regulatory frameworks. Peak Energy plans to use the facility to supply clean power directly to corporations seeking long-term renewable energy contracts, strengthening corporate decarbonization and the country’s renewable energy mix.
