Progesif Cellular Sendirian Berhad (PCSB) has issued a request for proposal (RfP) to stabilise its 3G mobile network as part of a two-phase network improvement programme. Phase 1 aims at eliminating existing bottlenecks in its network, as well as to maximise the efficiency of its equipment and infrastructure. PCSB will also expand its network capacity to accommodate anticipated traffic growth over the next 12 months. The RfP process is expected to take two months to complete and the successful vendor will be announced sometime in October 2014. Phase 2 of PCSB’s network improvement programme, which will enhance the network’s capability to support new and innovative services to PCSB’s customers, is expected to take place immediately after the first phase is complete. PCSB recently took over the business and operations of B-Mobile Communications. A wholly owned subsidiary of Darussalam Assets, PCSB is striving to become a competitive and sustainable mobile operator in Brunei.
