Philippines-based transport group Pasang Masda plans to deploy 40 electric vehicles (EVs) within August 2026 amid rising fuel prices. The group said the initiative would help operators reduce exposure to high petroleum costs and support the government’s push for electric mobility.
Pasang Masda has coordinated with GET Philippines, the company behind the government’s Love Bus, to source tested EVs equipped with apps and tap-in/tap-out functionality.
The 40 EVs are planned to operate along Commonwealth Avenue from SM Fairview, España and Taft Avenue to SM Mall of Asia.
The deployment follows the target for EVs to account for 50 per cent of vehicles in the Philippines by 2040. The government has also established the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Program through Executive Order No. 121 to encourage local EV manufacturing and investment.
