Pacifico Energy Vietnam has launched an offshore technical survey campaign for two wind power projects with a combined capacity of 1.8 GW, following the granting of sea-survey licences by Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. Conducted in cooperation with Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), the campaign will begin with geophysical surveys to assess seabed topography, geology and site conditions for the 500 MW Nam Bo project and the 1.3 GW Nam Trung Bo 3 project off Lam Dong Province.

Pacifico Energy received the survey licence for the 500 MW project in February 2026 and approval for Nam Trung Bo 3 in September 2026. The licences allow the company to undertake site investigations and prepare the projects for subsequent design, investment and permitting stages. According to the company, the two developments could attract more than $6 billion in investment and create opportunities for Vietnamese companies across the offshore wind supply chain, including surveying, ports and logistics, fabrication, construction and operations.

Pacifico Energy has operated in Vietnam since 2017, with a 40 MW Mui Ne solar plant and a 30 MW Sunpro wind farm. The company has identified offshore wind as a long-term strategic focus in the country.
