Packet One Networks (P1) is planning to launch 4G services in Malaysia by early 2015. With this, the company, which currently works in the fixed wireless broadband market, will enter the mobile telephony space. P1 is of the view that it would launch its mobile services and also issue mobile numbering in 2015. In March 2014, Telekom Malaysia, Green Packet and SKT had entered into a partnership to jointly invest in P1. With a focus on building the LTE network, the three parties have now planned to invest RM 1.65 billion for P1’s LTE roll-out and operations over the next few years.
