The US government’s development finance institution Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has commenced the initial disbursement of a $250 million loan to Apollo Towers Myanmar Limited. The OPIC financing will help bring telecom services to a larger portion of the Myanmar population. Apollo Towers currently caters to three mobile operators in Myanmar – Telenor, Myanmar Post and Telecommunications and Ooredoo. It owns and operates around 1,800 towers across Myanmar and has plans to build an additional 2,000 towers.
