Ooredoo Myanmar has launched the country’s first commercial 4G LTE service in selected parts of Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay. The company has also started selling handsets compliant with LTE technology and other new high-speed communication services. Customers can also use their existing Ooredoo SIM card to access the new 4G network. Myanmar’s MoTC is expected to auction 2600 MHz frequencies by end-2016. Until the additional frequencies become available, Ooredoo will use the 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for its 4G service.
