Indonesia-based NewQuest Geotechnology has signed a partnership agreement with Northtech Drilling, a subsidiary of Iceland-based North Tech Energy, to develop energy storage and carbon capture solutions in Indonesia. NewQuest and North Tech plan to focus on developing mini geothermal power plants in areas with low electricity demand and want to use mini geothermal drilling solutions to reduce the environmental footprint and increase the number of power plants by 80 per cent. The partnership covers the development of geothermal power plants in Indonesia, bringing heat/power storage and carbon capture and storage to Indonesia and synergies in geothermal exploration services locally and globally.
