The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has confirmed that the new passenger terminal building at Antique Airport will open before the end of 2025, significantly enhancing air connectivity in Western Visayas. The terminal, covering 2,224 square meters, will accommodate over 300 passengers, nearly five times the capacity of the existing facility.
According to the DOTr, the upgraded terminal will feature wider departure and arrival areas, modern check-in counters, restrooms, a nursing and breastfeeding room, and facilities for persons with disabilities. It also includes improved boarding gates and expanded passenger seating.
The airport’s runway, currently extended to 1,800 meters, will be capable of accommodating larger aircraft such as Airbus models, marking a major milestone in Antique’s aviation development.
