Nestlé Malaysia will be transitioning to 100 per cent renewable energy (RE) across all of its operations in Malaysia starting January 22, 2022. As a result of this move, the firm will be able to offset annual carbon emissions by 75,000 tonnes and fastrack its previous target of achieving net zero by 2025.

This initiative is supported under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources’ (KeTSA) Green Electricity Tariff (GET) programme, launched by in partnership with TNBX Sdn Bhd (TNBX), a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), at end of November 2021.

Nestlé Malaysia was one of the nine companies that announced its commitment to adopt the GET programme and it is one of the first to have completed the approval procedure. With this, RE including solar and wind power, sourced from TNBX, will power all operational sites in Malaysia.
