Thailand’s military-led administration, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), has stated that the auction for spectrum in the 1800 MHz band will now be conducted in July 2015. The regulator has delayed the auction process by a year to ensure transparency. It has also stated that it will resume examining the foreign ownership structure of the country’s telecom operators, including Telenor-backed Dtac, to ensure overseas stake remains below the permitted 49 per cent limit.
