DOTC has awarded the PhP 2.5 billion contract for the Southwest terminal of the integrated transport system to MWM Terminals, a JV of Megawide Construction Corporation and WM Property Management, Inc. The contract has been awarded on a design-build-operate-transfer basis with a concession period of 35 years, including two years for construction works. The terminal is aimed at interconnecting various modes of transport including the LRT, rail mass transit, etc. It will occupy an area of 4.59 hectares and consist of a passenger terminal building featuring emergency maintenance areas, arrival and departure bays, ticketing facilities, park-and-ride facilities, etc. The JV will be given a time frame of eight months to initiate construction works after signing the concession agreement.
