The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has awarded MVNO Altel a new 5G spectrum of 2×5 MHz of the 900 MHz band up to 2026. This in addition to the 2×20 MHz in the 2.6 GHz band that was previously allocated to the telecom service provider.
MCMC will grant providers the 700 MHz, 3.6 GHz and 28 GHz spectrum as needed to facilitate the national 5G rollout.
