The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has revealed plans to enhance seven infrastructure projects across Thailand, with a total estimated cost of THB1.48 billion. Funded through the fiscal budget of 2024, these upgrades are expected to be completed by 2026.

Key airport projects include expanding Phuket International Airport’s capacity from 12.5 million to 18 million passengers annually, with an investment of THB6.21 billion. Additionally, a second airport in Phuket, Andaman Airport is also under construction and is being developed at an investment of THB80 billion.  

Road infrastructure projects include widening lanes on highway no. 4027, constructing a frontage road linking Ban Muang Mai to Phuket Airport, building an elevated intersection of highways no. 402, 4027, and 4025, and developing the Krathu-Patong and Muang Mai-Koh Kaew highways.
