The Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Vietnam plans to revive an 84 km railway line between Thap Cham and Da Lat that has been un-operational since the 1950s. The revival project is expected to cost around USD1.15 billion and will be implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The route comprises 17 stations, 64 bridges, five tunnels and a 16-km rack rail section. Investment preparation and pre-feasibility study is expected to be completed by 2024. The line will resume passenger service in 2030.  A seven km section of the line has already been revived and is under operation as a tourist line.

Bach Dang Hotel Complex Trading – Service JSC has been selected as the project’s investor.
