CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd has appointed Mohamed Rafe Mohamed Haneef as the new CEO-cum-Executive Director as well as group Islamic banking division CEO effective from January 4, 2016. Mohamed Haneef was formerly HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd CEO and has over 15 years of experience in Islamic banking. Mohamed Haneef has specialised in Islamic banking over the last 15 of his 20-year career and has worked in major financial markets including London, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the International Islamic University, Malaysia, and a master’s degree in international finance and securities law from Harvard Law School, USA.
