Mitsubishi Power has successfully completed the 1,400 MW Hin Kong Combined Cycle Power Plant in Thailand, marking the commercial operation of its second M701JAC gas turbine in January 2025. The plant, owned by Hin Kong Power Company Limited, a joint venture between RATCH and Gulf Energy Development, commenced its first unit in March 2024. Located west of Bangkok, the facility will supply electricity to EGAT under a long-term power purchase agreement. Mitsubishi Power will also provide 25 years of maintenance services under a Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA).
This project highlights Mitsubishi Power’s extensive contributions to Thailand’s energy sector, with 10 M701JAC gas turbines collectively achieving 120,000 operational hours. Mitsubishi Power aims to continue supporting Thailand’s energy needs while advancing innovative power generation technologies.
