The Ministry of Transport has approved Dong Nai province’s proposal to widen the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh expressway to 10 lanes from its current four. The Ministry of Transport has ordered the Cuu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure to submit a pre-feasibility report for the proposal by the fourth quarter of 2020. The widening of the 24 km section from Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2 to Long Thanh township in Dong Nai will be done in the 2021-30 period. The Cuu Long Corporation has recommended that the expressway be widened to eight lanes at a cost of VND 9.8 trillion ($422.36 million) from 2025 and to 10 lanes in 2040.
