Construction has begun on the first phase of the Ca Na seaport complex project in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan. The first phase of the project, worth more than VND 1.46 trillion ($63 million), covers 108 ha on Ca Na beach in Thuan Nam district’s Phuoc Diem commune. The new seaport complex in Phase 1 is designed to handle about 3.3 million tonnes of cargo per year. It will have two wharves capable of receiving ships with deadweight tonnage (DWT) of up to 70,000-100,000, and one wharf handling ships of 20,000 DWT. The complex will apply smart technology, which will help speed up cargo handling. It will play an important role in supporting the transport of equipment for renewable energy projects in the province.
