The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has commissioned a new PHP597 million smart substation in Taguig, Philippines to provide stable power supply to Ayala Land Incorporation’s (ALI) Arca South development and nearby communities. The new 115kV-34.5kV gas-insulated switchgear substation will have an initial capacity of 83 MVA.
The substation will supply a combined capacity of 249 MVA to three transformer banks to support the energy requirements of the Arca South development.
Additionally, the substation will improve voltage regulation, will provide operational switching flexibility during contingencies and will contribute to system loss reduction in the area.
