Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Doosan Enerbility Company Limited to pursue low-carbon energy projects in the Philippines.
The partnership will explore initiatives like the rehabilitation of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), small modular reactors (SMRs), and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction technologies for existing thermal power plants. Additionally, the collaboration includes the supply of gas turbines for combined cycle power projects, with Doosan as the EPC contractor. This partnership supports the Philippines’ energy security and carbon emission reduction goals.
