Megawide Construction Corporation has secured a PHP1.87 billion contract to build Cavite’s first bus rapid transit (BRT) system in the Philippines which is aimed at enhancing connectivity across the province. Partnering with Maplecrest Group Incorporation, Megawide will develop the project in two phases, featuring 15 km of BRT alignment and 26.5 km of point-to-point (P2P) routes in its first phase. The project includes 27 stations and two terminals, with operations expected to commence in 2026. The second phase will extend the system to the New Cavite Provincial Capitol with an additional 20 stations.

The provincial government will support the project by facilitating permits and right-of-way acquisitions. Megawide, known for major infrastructure projects like the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, adds this initiative to its transport portfolio. The BRT system aims to boost local transit options, stimulate commercial development, and improve access to Metro Manila via the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
