McDermott has completed the offshore installation and commissioning of the Kikeh subsea gas lift project offshore East Malaysia. The contract, awarded by PTTEP Sabah Oil in early 2024, involved deepwater operations at a depth of approximately 1,400 meters. The project scope included replacing an existing gas lift riser and installing a new dynamic riser section, flowline, and two thermoplastic composite pipe jumpers. The offshore phase was completed in under eight months.
Kikeh, one of Malaysia’s largest deepwater developments since 2009, is located about 120 km northwest of Labuan Island. McDermott’s work aimed to maintain gas delivery to the subsea production system linked to the Kikeh floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
