Malaysia-based Maybank and AirAsia Berhad won the gold award for the best bank brand for the eighth consecutive year, at the Putra Brand Awards 2017 held in Kuala Lampur.

Maybank has been awarded in the banking, investment and insurance category. The bank undertakes key innovations in both the physical and digital sectors to expand its banking network and improve customer services.

Further, AirAsia has won in the transport, travel and tourism category. The airline was recognised for its extensive route network, low fares and service quality.

Over 6,000 respondents voted for their favourite brands across 24 categories during a nationwide survey conducted online.

The Putra Brand Awards are organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents, Malaysia, and is given to companies for their excellence in product innovation, brand-building and corporate social responsibility. The award is based on the consumer research methodology developed by Effective Measure. Consumers determine Malaysia’s favourite brands in various categories.
