ManagePay Services Sdn Bhd, a unit of ManagePay Systems Bhd, has entered into a joint venture (JV) with Shanghai Chinasoft Huateng Software System Limited to introduce smart transportation and IoT systems across Malaysia.
The JV will focus on deploying automatic fare collection (AFC) systems for metro and bus networks, as well as IoT platforms based on the Harmony Open Source framework. ManagePay will hold a 70% stake, while ChinaSoft will own the remaining 30 per cent. Each company will appoint two directors to the board.
The collaboration aims to support Malaysia’s urban digital transformation through smart mobility and transport efficiency. It will also serve as a strategic vehicle to bid for future smart transport and IoT projects across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. ChinaSoft brings experience from similar deployments in China and partnerships with Huawei, Microsoft, AWS, and Tencent Cloud.
