Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a USD680 million contract to a joint venture (JV) company comprising Japan-based Taisei Corporation and China State Construction Engineering Corporation for the design and construction of the Riviera Station on the Cross Island Line-Punggol Extension (CPe).

Construction on the Riviera station will commence in Q1 of 2023, with the station opening to passenger traffic in 2032.

The CPe is a 7.3km extension of the under-construction Cross Island Line (CRL) and will include four stations, including Punggol, Riviera, Elias and Pasir Ris. It will improve rail connectivity in Pasir Ris and Tampines North, Punggol and Sengkang.
