South Korea-based LS Industrial Systems Company has secured a $16.3 million two-year contract to manufacture and supply LTran-CX, a wireless communication-based train control (CBTC) system, for the 16.9 km Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) in Manila. South Korea-based Hanwha is responsible for the repair, maintenance and overall management of control systems for MRT-3. MRT-3 connects North Avenue station in Quezon City to Taft Avenue station in Pasay City. The line has the capacity to carry 350,000 passengers per day.
