South Korea-based LS Electric has secured a contract from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to supply the signalling system for a 177-km-long rail line between Ban Phai and Nong Phok. The contract is valued at USD23.7 million.

This project is part of a larger 354 km railway track-doubling initiative linking Ban Phai, Nong Phok, and Saphan Mittraphap, estimated to cost USD1.49 billion. The Government of Thailand’s double-tracking initiative aims to enhance freight and passenger transport capacities in the northeastern region.

LS Electric has previously completed several railway modernisation phases and has now secured over 50 per cent market share with orders exceeding USD178 million in Thailand.
