The VND35 trillion (USD1.3 billion) passenger terminal of Long Thanh International Airport has completed major roofing works and is now undergoing installation of interior systems and AI-enabled operational technology in Vietnam. The construction package is scheduled for full completion by August 2026.
The terminal comprises a central hall and three wings, with a total floor area of 376,000 square metres, designed to process 25 million passengers annually in Phase 1. Approximately 80 percent of the exterior glass has been installed, while bridge and conveyor installations are ongoing. The air traffic control tower, designed as a lotus bud, is being completed with a total investment of VND3.5 trillion (USD132.7 million).
Long Thanh Airport spans 5,000 hectares and represents Vietnam’s largest aviation project, intended to replace Tan Son Nhat as the main international hub. Key elements of Phase 1—including one runway, the terminal structure and navigational facilities—are being accelerated to support commercial operations by mid-2026.
