Vietnam-based public transport operator Lien Ninh has begun the deployment of 111 electric buses across its nine operating routes in Hanoi as part of its plan to fully convert its fleet to zero-emission vehicles by December 2025. All vehicles are being supplied by VinFast under a full-fleet electrification programme aligned with the city’s green transport targets.
The fleet consists of 13 EB6 minibuses, 72 EB8 mid-size buses and 26 EB10 large buses. The EB6 has a capacity of 29 passengers and a range of up to 340 km per charge, while the EB8 carries up to 60 passengers with a range exceeding 290 km. All buses feature low-floor access, wheelchair spaces, Wi-Fi, passenger information systems, CCTV, collision warning and lane monitoring systems. To support operations, Lien Ninh has installed 40 charging points at terminals and parking depots.
The deployment supports Hanoi’s long-term plan to transition its entire public bus system to electric and green-energy-powered vehicles by 2030. The initiative also strengthens VinFast’s position as the primary domestic supplier for large-scale electric bus programmes in Vietnam’s urban transport sector.
