The 5.1km Labuan coastal road connecting Kerupang to Membedai in Malaysia has been opened to traffic. The road project is valued at USD125 million. Works on the road project commenced in 2017, under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).
The project is expected to improve Labuan’s connectivity, as well as ease traffic congestion along Jalan Pohon Batu and Jalan Tun Mustapha to the town centre. Approximately 35 per cent of the island road users will also benefit from the Labuan road.
