Thailand’s Krungthai Bank (KTB) and the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) have jointly launched the Mangmoom EMV Card, a contactless chip-based card that enables fare payments across all MRT lines, including the Purple, Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Red lines.
The card is also valid for retail transactions and will support the Airport Rail Link starting October 2025. It replaces the existing MRT Plus card, eliminating the need for separate cards for each rail line.
Users can register for the government’s THB20 flat fare policy via the Pao Tang app. The card, priced at THB50 with no annual fees, can be obtained at Purple Line stations or ordered online. Cardholders can manage services and access transit and retail benefits through Pao Tang Pay.
The initiative supports Thailand’s effort to integrate transport and financial ecosystems and is part of MRTA and KTB’s strategy to modernise public transit and promote cashless mobility.
