China-based Shenzhen Kstar Science and Technology Company Limited (Kstar) has secured a contract to build a 1 GW solar inverter production facility at a manufacturing base in Northern Vietnam.
The base will be constructed in two phases. The Kstar Vietnam Project Phase I includes the addition of production capacities for 10,000 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 1,000 units of modular data centres and 1 GW of solar inverters per year.
The first phase of the project is expected to be finalised by June 2022 and new equipment is scheduled to be installed for production by the end of 2022. Building works for Phase II are expected to commence in 2024.
