One of the two Automated People Mover (APM) ordered for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Aerotrain service is expected to start operating in 2024.
In March 2023, the Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) ceased services on the two KLIA APM vehicles as the units had reached the end of their 25-year lifespan. Pestech International Bhd will upgrade the existing Bombardier Innovia APM 100 vehicles to the Innovia APM 300 model. The replacement project will be fully funded by the MAHB and will take around two years to complete. During this period, a shuttle bus service will replace the Aerotrain.
