Philippines-based Converge Information & Communications Technology Solutions Incorporated (Converge) and Keppel Midgard Holdings Private Limited (Keppel), a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation have signed a definitive agreement for the transpacific cable system project.

Under the terms of agreements, Converge has been granted an Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) for one fibre pair on the Bifrost Cable System’s main trunk. The two firms have also agreed to create a branch on the Bifrost Cable System that will be based in Davao, Philippines with Converge having an IRU on the entire Davao branch. They will also be in charge of the branch segment’s landing party.

In April 2021, Converge announced plans to invest USD100 million in the new transpacific cable system.
